Salt n Pepper Layout

May 8, 2008 07:58 by MARY
I used the Salt n Pepper collection to create this layout, which was inspired by Melissa's cards, http://scrapbookideas.topline-creations.com/post/2008/03/Salt--Pepper-collection-cards.aspx.  Melissa, Thanks for sharing your cards so that it helped create these pages.  For some reason, when I see that butterfly, the words to Bette Midler's Wind Beneath my Wings runs through my head.  This layout will be a tribute to a few special people who really were the wind for me, who helped me achieve things I could not have done on my own.  With gratitude. . .

Wow, Mary, these are really pretty. Thank you for mentioning my cards for the inspiration, that is so thoughtful. The butterfly is indeed a nice effect but difficult to achieve when there are not many of the paisley shapes that work in the mirror image - most of them seem to run the same direction. I'm sure your friends would love to see their photos on such beautiful pages.

Melissa,
I have to give credit where credit is due. Wink I scraplifted your card idea for a card swap I did and have had these pages stuck in my brain for two months! I am glad I was finally able to get it down on paper.
If you will notice, the paisleys I used for the wings are not identical, but it works. I found I was able to get more butterflies from a sheet of paper if I just matched up sizes instead of patterns. Thanks for the inspiration!

Really beautiful! I love it and will HAVE to scraplift. Burtterflys were the sub-theme at my daughter's Bat Mitzvah this past weekend.

I really love what you have done with the paisley. I am going thru a 'paisley' phase at the moment. The cuttlebug has a lovely paisley folder. I also would love to scraplift this idea from both you Mary and Melissa.
Thanks for a beautiful page.
